In The News to start the month of March

First, lets go back to Rick Warren:
John Piper On Rick Warren’s “Chrislam”

The internet has been abuzz since Sunday on the news that Rick Warren “has embarked on an effort to heal divisions between evangelical Christians and Muslims by partnering with Southern California mosques and proposing a set of theological principles that includes acknowledging that Christians and Muslims worship the same God” (source). Now it seems that Warren, who sits on theTony Blair  Faith Foundation’s interfaith Religious Advisory Council, is backtracking or is trying to cloud his intentions as to what he is attempting to accomplish through his interfaith P.E.A.C.E projects. Ken Silva has more about that at Apprising.

VIDEO-Jesus of the Qur'an is not the same Jesus as in the Bible. Rick Warren is wrong!
Usamaway explains why Jesus, "Isa," of the Qur'an is not the same as Jesus Christ of the Bible. Rick Warren is leading Christians to believe a lie. His recent appearance at an Islamic Convention and his use of the name "Isa" (the name of Jesus in the Qur'an) in the prayer of the Presidential Inauguration show him to be deceived or to be a deceiver. God help his people to see the truth before it is too late!

Pastor Rick Warren Promoting "Chrislam"

By Steve McConkey

Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Church, plans to build a PEACE Center near Los Angeles to create peace between Muslims and Christians according to the Orange County Register.

According to the article, Warren has been outreaching for years to Muslims. He has broken Ramadan fasts at a mosque and has addressed 8,000 Muslims at a national convention in Washington D.C.

Warren's church and Muslim leaders co-authored a document outlining the points of agreement between Muslims and Christians. Both sides affirmed they believe in "one God" and share the "love of God" and "love of neighbor."

They agreed they would not evangelize each other. Warren has stated in the last few days that the Orange County Register article contained errors, however, the editor said he got all the facts correct.

Rick Warren and others who follow him are being led in the wrong direction. Instead of fulfilling the Great Commission of winning and building men and women in the faith, they are building a Tower of Babel that leads to nowhere. Something like the "bridge to nowhere."

The problem with Rick Warren is that he promotes New Age authors, doctors, and false religions one day, and then the next day, he makes vague comments about why he does not believe what they do.

And now something new on Same-Sex Marriage. Remember what God says on the subject of Same-Sex Marriage

Leviticus 20:13
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Leviticus 20:13
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
1 Kings 15:11-12
And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David his father.
And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.
Romans 1:26-27
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their woman did change the natural use into that which is against nature.
And like wise the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another: men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

The ink is barely dry on the bill legalizing same-sex marriage in Maryland, but the fight over whether it will remain the law is heating up.

Just a day after signing the bill, Maryland governor Martin O'Malley set a fundraising email to supporters asking for money, as both sides of the same-sex marriage fight gear up for a possible voter referendum this fall.

Opponents of gay unions need to gather 56,000 valid signatures on petitions by the summer, and even same-sex marriage supporters expect them to succeed.
